Boarder Gavaskar Trophy 2024

 Boarder- Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) 2024 a vision to the World Test Championship for Team India.

Boarder-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT), this series is named after Former Australia's captain Allan Boarder & India's Sunil Gavaskar. It is a test match series scheduled using International Cricket Council (ICC). The winer of the test series wins the trophy and if the series is drawn , the country holding the trophy retention. It is considered one of the most prestigious bilateral trophy in 5-days cricket.

This edition will start from 22 November to 30 December 2024 in Australia. It is a 5 match test series, ultimately will impact on the point table of World Test Championship for both the team to reach the final. For the very time it happened in 1996-1997 host by India which is a one of test match.

India consider as the most successful team holding 10 series wins & 1 retention. From both teams Sachin Tendulkar has the highest run getter record, Scored 3262 runs in 65 innings and Nathan Lion is the leading wicket taker having 121 wicket in 27 matches in an average of 31.56

Best Performance.....

The best of history started from the very first BGT test match known as 1996-97 one-off test match . It was the first to be played under BGT. This was Sachin Tendulkar's first series as captain. This series is considered of just one match, played at Feroz Shah Kotla Ground in Delhi.

2001(India) :- 

One of the greatest come back in history of cricket. India won 2-1 , with VVS Laxman 281 & Harbhajan Singh 32 wickets.



2008 (Australia):-
Controversial of umpiring & the "Monkeygate" scandal involving Harbhajan Singh and Andrew Symonds. Australia sealed the series with 2-1. 




2017(Australia):-
India took revenge by winning the series by 2-1 , with incredible performance by cheteshwar Pujara & Ravindra Jadeja.

2021-22(Australia):- 

India Clinched history 2-1 series won despite several injuries and absence captain Virat Kohli after the dramatic first test match. India manage to came back the upset and showed some great performance. Young talents led by Ajinkya Rahne handle the nerve and smashed Australian in their soil. Rishabh Pant's Heroic & Mohamed Siraj bowling were highlights.



This year in a new edition of BGT , Team India and Team Australia will fight for the trophy. This time figh will be larger and wider. A 5 Match test series will be the key to success at the World Test Championship 2023-2025. Rohit Sharma lead the the team for the BGT 2024 in Australia. India need minimum 3 wins to reach the final of WTC 2023-25 out of 6 matches. India will play a last test match against Newzealand in home after loss of 2 matches. Newzealand is ahead of 2-0 in the 3 matches series. So it's important to tackle down Newzealand in home. A series to remind will be going to happen in Australia.
